Take a deep breath Cato...

Certainly things can get done the way they are now. I heard that the port could operate more efficiently if they had a way to accomodate larger ships. Supertankers wouldn't have to offload in the gulf onto other ships and have them deliver it. It would be faster if they brought it in themselves. This is only one issue for the bridge.

Realistically, we won't have a say in the construction of the new bridge. Bigger people than us will make the decision regardless. In other words, I'm sure someone's pockets are going to benefit from it. I hate to say it Cato, I don't think Rock drilling will be the one.

----------------------------------------and just how could you possibly know who will benefit?

is your pocket being lined?

i am sure you have no "common sense" much less know anything about it

when you get some then maybe you can get a "piece of the rock"

Two reasons cited for tearing down a historical landmark....

and notice neither of them deal with who will be making bucoooos of dinero.

Corrosion?

Not a factor for at leat another 50 years or so and that is if we stopped all maintainence. Think it will still be standing after a major hurricane?

I say yes.

Height??

Why height?

How is it better to bring the ship all the way in than to offload away from the public. Public Safety must be a primary factor. These ships are clumsy at best. Let us not forget the Super Tanker Exxon Valdez.

Bottom line is Social Status & Economic status of a select few at the expense of taxpayer money and our safety.

Oh yeah, when we built cargo dock 1 it was designed for industry not parties and board rooms.

Wowee My post about getting the bridge declared an historical landmark has been purged. This topic shows 16 posts and now only 9 remain. Good grief, did we hit a nerve? I was trying humor and someone thought it had possibilities I guess. How troubling that something like that would get the ax.

Some support the harbor bridge to get rich, not for community
6/1/2006 12:46 AM

Why are the lights of the harbor bridge turned of as textwrite wrote, to make it less attractive?

The guy (engineer) that built the harbor bridge led the project to built mount Rushmore. The bridge like the courthouse is a historical site.

1) A movement against building a new bridge and tearing down a historical landmark residing in a historical designated area. Public Opinion can over rule imminent domain.

2)A challenge to the incumbent Gene Seaman to debate his well respected opponent Desert Storm Aviator Juan Garcia.

The Agenda is clear.

Where do you stand El Capitan?

It just goes to demonstrate the cowardice of some and the selective nature of others when it comes to our constitution.

A Sea Man or a Desert Storm Aviator

Yes sir ocifer we were trying to buy a baby and we paid for it, but she did not produce the product and we want our money back
""The judge denied bond for 24-year-old Belinda Ramirez saying she's a flight risk, and a danger to the community".

=====================================================================================

"Packages were found at the defendants house with addresses matching the victims who sent her money and gifts...I saw video surveillance of her using the gift cards at Wal-Mart""

Now, a few red flags pop up in my mind.

First of all if something sounds too good to be true then.......

Secondly and more so this reminds ME of an illegal transaction (like say human trafficking) gone bad and one of the parties reports it to the authorities.

"However, there are some basic elements of trafficking that are widely agreed upon, such as violence, deception, coercion, deprivations of freedom of movement, abuse of authority, debt bondage, forced labour and slavery-like practices, and other forms of exploitation or use of force.

The above elements are largely and commonly agreed upon, and trafficking is considered to be a violation of the basic rights of women and girls. The issue however, gets mired in controversy and confusion when prostitution too is considered as a violation of the basic human rights of both adult women and minors, and equal to sexual exploitation per se. From this standpoint then, trafficking and prostitution become conflated with each other. This conflation is also historically grounded. It is important to remember that the historical understanding of trafficking in international law has been focussed primarily on the movement of women and girls across borders for the purpose of prostitution. This is indeed the key aspect of the 1949 Convention on the Suppression of Traffic in Person and the Exploitation of Others which declares that the very entry of a woman into prostitution with or without her consent, and third party involvement is an offence.
"there is a growing agreement that the problem of 'trafficking in human beings' involves two key elements: recruitment/transport and forced labor or slavery-like practices (actual or attempted) ... Moreover, most experts agree that trafficking should be defined as involving deception or coercion of some kind."

Yes sir ocifer we were trying to buy a baby and we paid for it, but she did not produce the product and we want our money back.

Deception is common in the black market and when attorneys and adoption agencies are circumvented; the players (now illegally conspiring to traffic or sell a human being) become dealers and consumers in the Black Market. High risks and lucrative returns but most of all any contract is void when it violates Statutory Law.

Basically, the courts will not get involved in any suit that involves illegality or immorality.

Therefore, fraud would be based on a legal agreement between two parties. In this case the agreement involved an illegal transaction since it is illegal to buy sell or trade human beings. In the Belinda Ramirez case, she was not obligated to produce a baby in return unless there is a contract agreement in which Laura Valois' Attorney and Adoption Agency would have required. Undoubtedly, the gifts and such were outside of the agreement if there was one.

It amazes ME how a Media Entity such as KRIS TV (NBC) would take the word of a New Yorker without any requirement of documentation or investigation. It is highly irresponsible and unprofessional to advocate for a YUPPIE who was obviously was conspiring to purchase and traffic a human being (a newborn baby).

Now if the girl knew she was not pregnant WATT then?

It is possible she knew all along while she was defrauding those conspiring to commit a criminal act.

Does that make the YUPPIES victims?

Or Criminals?

Another issue would be the entering into a contract with a party of diminished mental capacity.

Hypothetically, if the girl was selling heroin and the Yuppies were giving her "gifts" in good faith as consideration, does her not providing the illegal and illicit drug make the buyers victims?

Bottom Line: If the transaction was illegal the both parties committed felonius acts against the human race.

Of course, according to KRIS TV the mentally diminished Texan victimized the New Yorker YUPPIES.

Face it Gabe Rivas, Carlos Garcia & Ben Blanco; Del Mar Female Students are not interested in YOU or your VIAGRA!

progressive said...

Mr. kenedeno, my 17 year old daughter has told me that Gabe Rivas made a dirty advance toward her while she was in the del mar parking lot. I have went to the college president and he laughed at me. My daughter has dropped out of school as a result of this. What should we do? Witnesses were present. Please help

5:07 AM

As I understand from insiders close to the Sexual Harrassment Civil Rights allegations at Del Mar College, Theresa Cox is on administrative leave under the whistleblowers act. Her position or imposition has placed her at odds with administration, Board of Regents Officials and the President of the University Carlos Garcia. Rumblings from the Board of Regents suggest a turmoil from within this elite group. Sources suggest a resignation of Bill Chriss is forthcoming as he is pursuing a teaching position at the University of Texas. Although he cites his reason for stepping down as the UT Teaching position one must question the motives and ask why now Bill? As I understand, Mr Chriss has held this UT position for some time which IMO exclaims Mr Chriss does not want any part of the corruption and is dissociating himself from the Elite Del Mar Board of Regents. I would like to think his public service will continue. Perhaps a de-throning of one of our elitist County Commisioners such as Cazalas (who even mainstream republicans loathe)? As the rumblings begin to spill out of the Board Room it should be noted that the name Jacob Munoz (a convenient token) is the Del Mar Board of Regents' most notable man for the JOB. I must ask the average citizen to think back and ask themselves WATT has Jacob Munoz done for the average citizen. WATT has he done for the hispanic community?

Now back to Carlos Garcia; I know his position is to defend the institution of higher learning and I know of his scoffing, condescending and demeaning acts of playing dumb. This is insignifigant when compared to the aggressive campaigns directed at the victims who meet with him in the privacy of his office. Mr Garcia, it is not a student's fault that you or your faculty is "going through a mid life crisis". It is not the right of faculty or Board members to use the student body as a harem from which to choose companionship; but quite the contrary.

On to the GSA and the MONEY. WATT did Donna Strong do to censor the article revealing Carlos Garcia and the misappropriation of club money?

Itis only a matter of time before it all catches up to you and your kind at Del Mar Mr Garcia.

You too Mr Rivas!

These young girls dont want you or your viagra.

Dont you think yall have ruined enough already?

Marie. Where is Ray? Why dont you post as yourself we all know it is YOU.

We already know how to fish. So why do we need you or your bullshit?

Do back to the Devils Den!

I think this case has a very much better chance once it is out of South Texas. After all wasn't it the judge in Austin that ruled to exhume Kenedy's body. I was glad to read that Dr. Fernandez will continue on with appeals. I wish him and his family well.

I agree. This is about what is best for the case and not what is best for Jaime, dannoynted nor Defenzor. This case not only deals with the Fernandez family, but also the way Mexican Americans have been treated here in South Texas ever since the gringo came to this region and the effects it has left on how we treat each other.

right Nelly?

This case is all about South Texas. It will not be won anywhere but South Texas and only with the support of South Texas. You are correct, it is not about ME or D1 or El Defenzor, "but also the way Mexican Americans have been treated here in South Texas ever since the gringo came to this region and the effects it has left on how we treat each other." What about thye way the Fernandez' have used South Texas. It is purely about Ray & Marie getting money. They don't even pay the people who work their a$$ off for them. They are Yanquis of their own Raza. Just like Two Fer. Are the Fernandez' willing to make a written contract with South Texas? If not, then Just Get!

There is pending litigation relating to some of these names. Do some homework. Nobody believes in your sorry a$$ family anymore Marie. Now who is hustling who? All you gotta do is apologize and sign a little piece of paper. Remember Marie, cant lose WATT you dont got. Tell Billy we see him from afar. And for all here at El Defenzor we already know the Fernandez case has no spirit and even the family of Ann Fernandez loathes your greedy uneducated a$$. "Must be the money"! - Nelly
